Great Boulder Resources (ASX:GBR) records assays over 1000 g/t gold at Mulga Bill, WA

  • Great Boulder Resources (GBR) records gold assays of over 1000 grams per tonne for the first time at Mulga Bill in Western Australia
  • Assaying of two visible gold intersections from drilling at Mulga Bill, within the Side Well project, returned a top result of one metre at 3451 grams per tonne (g/t) gold
  • Managing Director Andrew Paterson says of the 275 holes drilled at the project, this is the highest gold assay to date
  • However, Mr Paterson says the results are not representative of the broader mineralisation style, and infill drilling will quantify the extent and grade of the zone

Great Boulder Resources (GBR) has labelled the latest batch of assays from its Mulga Bill prospect in WA0 “stunning”.

The company intersected course visible gold during reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the prospect, which lies within GBR Side Well project. Up to 3451 grams per tonne (g/t) was returned in assay results from these intersections.

Great Boulder’s Managing Director Andrew Paterson said this was the company’s highest gold assay to date.

“We have now drilled more than 275 RC holes within the Side Well project area,” ” Mr Paterson said.

“This is the first time we’ve seen coarse visible gold and the first time we’ve seen assays over 1000 g/t.”

However, the MD pointed out that the results were “extremely unusual” and not representative of the broader mineralisation style.

“We will need to do tight-spaced infill drilling around this area to quantify the extent and grade of this high-grade zone,” he said.

“We will be able to place more context around these two intersections once we have assays back for the rest of this hole and the remainder of the program.”

Reverse circulation drilling is continuing, and the company has also begun an 11,000-metre air-core program to test a range of areas along the six-kilometre-long Mulga Bill corridor.

GBR shares were up 2.06 per cent and trading at 9.9 cents at 3:57 pm AEDT.
