Patriot revs up to lithium grades above 5% drilling at Corvette in Quebec

Patriot Battery Metals Ltd (ASX: PMT, TSX: PMET) has identified a solid presence of lithium across wide intervals from drilling at the CV5 pegmatite on its Covette lithium project in Quebec, with results including 126.3 metres at 1.66 percent lithium oxide (Li2O) and 16.1 metres at 5.02%vLi2O.

This is the first series of drilling results for 2024 on the CV5 pegmatite, which holds a maiden mineral resource estimate (inferred) of 109.2 million tonnes at 1.42% Li2O, and sits within the wider Corvette project, where Patriot discovered the CV Lithium Trend back in 2017.

Corvette itself is located in the James Bay region of Quebec, with mineralisation sitting along the La Grande Greenstone Belt. Patriot has evaluated more than 70 pegmatites within a wider outcrop over 20 kilometres at the project.

Vice President of exploration Darren L. Smith said the drilling work would help Patriot progress to further resource estimation across CV5 and another pegmatite, CV13.

“The 2024 resource infill drilling at CV5 advanced very well over the recently completed winter program, with the first batch of assays producing some stellar results,” he said.

“We are now focused on refining the pegmatite geological model and domaining through integration of the core assay data as it comes in.

“The Company remains on schedule for a Q3 2024 update to the June 2023 maiden mineral resource estimate, which will include both the CV5 and CV13 spodumene pegmatites.”

Patriot Battery Metals has been trading at 78.3c.
