After long delays, Mantle Minerals kicks off drillrun for gold at Mt Berghaus

After delays borne from tenement disputes with rail operators, Mantle Minerals (ASX:MTL) has kicked off drilling at its Mt. Berghaus tenements in WA.

The company is searching for gold in relative proximity to De Grey’s (ASX:DEG) Hemi deposit, according to Mantle; the tenements cover some 140sq.km.

This maiden drill run will be conducted with an aircore rig in the early stages of exploratory fieldwork on-site the project. A total of 122 drillholes are planned.

Following an assessment of aircore drilling samples, the company will chase after the foremost targets of interest with an RC rig, able to go deeper in most cases than aircore.

In the meantime, geotechs will be keeping an eye out for future drilling targets, both generated by the RC results and by other means. The company noted on Thursday it’s got arsenic anomalies on its radar.

The company also remains active on-site Roberts Hill, another target within the same project boundary envelope.

MTL last traded at 0.3cps.
