Not just churches but any edifices that are representative of other cultures and religions, non-Islamic.
Members of Taliban, al-Qaida, ISIS, and other jihadist organizations adhere to an Islamic obligation termed ‘commanding what is good and forbidding what is reprehensible’. Taliban blowing up the Buddha sculptures, ISIS destroying scores of pre-Islamic, Jewish, Christian, Sunni/Sufi, and Shiʿa spiritual and sepulchral buildings.........
And for no other reason than because they were interpreted as un-islamic or was ordained in the name of the Religion of Peace.
