    Laborites were able to portray Vic as some sort of utopia. What with the hundreds of billions being spent by the laborites thereby creating cash dependant cronies it probably seemed like a utopia.

    So what they do is to continually criticise a sensible world. In the words of Lyman Sargent in his book 'UTOPIANISM'

    "The satire running throughout More’s Utopia is fundamental to bothutopian traditions because one of the functions of most utopias is to hold thepresent up to ridicule and, in doing so, many utopias use a typical tool ofsatire, exaggeration."

    ie Sensible spending is ridiculed because it doesn't buy any votes.

    Laborites are now mainly petty bourgeois and they have a contemptuous attitude towards the working class. In fact they desperately need union bureaucrats to convince workers to vote ALP thereby cutting their own throats.
