Because as you know it was the urgency to get it in place. Coalition would have blocked any amendments. Businesses were shutting doors every day and workers being sacked. Once the overpayments had been identified then the Morrison government should have been much more vocal about returning the money. Instead they just said "You can keep all that money you wrongly claimed". Compare that to any welfare money from Centrelink that has been wrongly claimed..................the cries go out "PAY IT BACK"
