They don't know that this is exactly the other way around - it is the world that needs China.
I've heard over the years that, one day, the yellow people / yellow race are gonna rule the world. 'Rule' as in 'be dominant'.
This could actually happen.
Before somebody accuses me of racism / anti-semitism / anti-whatever....the 'yellow' word does not carry anything demeaning.
Similarly, in Asia and in Australia, white people (read: the westerners and others of fair complexion) are often or very often referred to as 'whites'. This is, at least, what many people of Asian descent have told me over the years. And, for them, it has no bad connotations whatsoever, it just indicates the white colour of the skin.
