So one has to conclude that these prophets of Chinese doom are
referring to the political collapse of China and given the political
structure of China there are no signs o that evident.

So in conclusion , these prophecies are merely wishful thinking, IMO.

Just have a look at China's trade over the past few years despite US
attempts to sabotage that:

NB: 2022 stats were generated during China's Covid Total Lockdowns &
IMO, 2023 & 2024 figures will be better

It amazes me how many and how often, a section of Australian society want to see our Biggest Customer fail. China has been the biggest reason for our growth for more than 30 plus years!!!

I can understand why American politician and businesses want to see China fail, as China is the biggest challenger to their Number 1 status.

And why you see people like Gordon Chang predicted the collapse of China (for 20 plus years!!!).

But why us?

Are we American? Does America provide us with $100B in Trade Surplus annually? Does the EU provide us with $100B in Trade Surplus annually?

Note: the US and EU have had no problems in doing Trade Deals with China, and have had no problems in taking away our Trade Deals with China.

So why should we sabotage our own Trade Deals with China???

Don't we have our own family to look after?

I am often bewildered to read posts like some on this forum (not yours).

Is it the Tall Poppy Syndrome or something else?
