The assembly would become stuck if the pressure throws out its allignment and that vugs can have shards of rock in them (not just carbonates). Not all pressure is up/down (vertical) there would also be horizontal pressures from potentially four different directions.
Hence the need to increase mud weights to secure the assembly and then a sidetrack to avoid the zone of concern.
