Not at all... my argument was that 'competence' for most positions would be equally distributed in our general population, yet business leadership positions (amongst many, many other fields) have been historically lopsided.
And that hiring outaide that historically favoured group does not alone mean the person hired was actually incompetent, a pure diversity hire, or that a more deserving hire missed out.
Deserving people have missed every job ever filled.
No solution or system will ever be perfect, and there will likely be many over corrections to come to go with the many that have already occurred.
Maybe this person was hired purely to tick a box in this instance. Dont know and dont really care.
Bit of hyperbole above, though... 'pure evil', come on. Even with the misframing, that is a bit overblown.
