They did mention that it was done to manage tax. If you read closely they continued to pay income tax to create franking credits, Graham also mentioned in that podcast they're looking forward to reviewing the dividend policy. I'm not sure what the policy is currently but given their financials it could be restricting them paying out dividends in last financial year.
I do expect them to pay something again soon. No doubt the directors shareholdings are held via a web of tax effect structures and franking credits are very valuable to them.
