re dividend drop
I would normally agree, but I'm less sure this time around.
In recent weeks, HKEX has been leading ASX. The regular HKEX trader maybe pricing in a dividend of A$0.325. The franking credit helps on the withholding tax, but that's it.
If HKEX continues to lead, then a drop equivalent to the gross dividend for ASX punters isn't guaranteed to last.
