Minister for defence industry Conroy stated bisalloy and HII had signed a small steel contract for virginia class submarine steel with potential larger contracts to follow..
My initial understanding is HII provides global maintenance for the virginia/columbia class US submarines built by NNS and electric boats.
My guess this is an initial order for maintenance and testing.?
I'm surprised how soon this contract has been signed imo only it shows bisalloy has full confidence in equalling or exceeding US/UK hull grade stds.
I still believe depending on out come from above contract the next contract will be much larger and delivered to austal as per previous posts.
