it looks they may be in the market for more m&a deals regardless of what they may say publicly. Now that EVN has expertise how to run porphyry operations they may go after NMPP and start entering the big boys club. The advantage they have is they are really close to NMPP and can move resources around which means massive synergies.
NEM is in same position though but NEM has lot more debt - still in the game for NMPP and I would not write them off.

EVN will certainly be good JV partner as I really like their management.

Anglo Ashanti would be another as they are in the market and paying premium on exploration JVs so why not spend on NMPP where ALK already drilled indicated resources.

And copper deposits in Aus will carry premium price due geopolitics and other global supply chain pressures.

Its possible , and they would not need to do capital raise for initial transaction, the market would hate another cap raise , the last one is just after coming into the money, they will have plenty of free cash at end of June quarter if gold stays at this level, approx 112 Million AUD extra cash.
