I know you didn't ask me, but imho it's got to be for more drilling. Perhaps were expecting better results from the latest drills and didn't get what they were hoping for so they feel they need to either expand it or go deeper.
Unless out of left field there is a choice opportunity for a take over of a neighbour....doubt it though.
