I'd have to say I know nothing about taxation, just frustrated as I had other plans and expected the money back earlier... However, digging through the ATO seems like some get decisions are made quick and in reverse order (eg. from my interpretation the one below the capital return payment was paid on 4th January 2024 and ruling published 31 January 2024, so opposite way round). Wouldn't be surprised I'm interpreting it wrong. Anyway just adding fuel (ha, ha, ha, get it, we are in oil and gas) to the fire.
