Another possibility is BHP spin-off, S32.
S32 announced this morning that it has entered into a binding agreement to sell Illawarra Metallurgical Coal for up to US$1.65 billion (Transaction). See Post #: 72659683.
S32 CEO Graham Kerr said: “This Transaction ,,, will streamline our portfolio, strengthen our balance sheet and unlock capital to invest in our high-quality development projects in copper and zinc."
The intent to develop copper projects is there. Whether S32 is also open to acquisitions of pre-development copper projects like Kalkaroo is another matter.
