Unfortunately that is out of context to try and support Rome and Peter being the rock
As stated, you have to change Jesus question and the subject to make it about Peter
When Jesus said who do you say i am
And Peter says you are the son of God
And Jesus replies on this foundation i will build my church,is pretty easy to understand
The translations from the greek to the english dont have the english commas etc that the translators wrote in the english
When read in the greek, theres absolutely not even a question what this discourse is about etc
Another point, the hermonetics of the bible clearly teach in every other example in the bible, when refering to the Rock,it refers to the messiah/son of God
Yet,people really want it to just in this verse, make it mean Peter, because thats what suits their theology
Can you give me another example where a word means something everywhere else in the bible, but you change that meaning for one verse only?
