Antisemitism is a misnomer. The Arabs and Jews are all Semites, i.e. their languages are Semitic. While there is nothing wrong with metonymy in and of itself, there is a problem when doing so with religious, ethnic and social groups - the reasons for this ought to be obvious.
There is a great deal of prejudice out in the world for Jews - history stands testament to that fact (think the pogroms throughout Western and Eastern Europe and Russia right through the Middle Ages into the modern era, and the oppression of the Jews in Ancient Egypt).
Also, just because the Bible, or any Holy Scripture for that matter, does not expound on every detail of the universe does not mean it is ipso facto a work of fiction. Such an assertion is simply dumb.
