I like your WB Yeats quote. I put a pebble on his headstone in Drumcliff graveyard a few years ago and visited what is his "Lake Isle of Innisfree" (Glencar Lough)
I guess ANZAC is an emotive issue but in my opinion it should be a learning experience for us all and that we dont have to go to war (any war) to prove our nationhood.
Then it was to protect the interests of the British Empire & now that of the USA.
