good argument well made..... yet I would put that the values, community spirit, priorities and even policies are what we in the electorate should be voting on. this is the format that Aus elections followed from when elections were first held. community meetings are hard work but it enables voters to make a choice from a personal connection with candidates and candidates with voters.
charisma is something that is used by all manner of dangerous people. ever see Abbott turn it on? fr better to assess a person by putting a hypothetical question of ethical, social, legal or policy to candidates and see how they respond.
