It is not left or right that generates popularity, it is how emotionally appealing the news is.
If anything, facts typically have negative correlation with popularity. A media reporting news based on fear and emotion will always generate more views and money than another media full of statistics and a numbers.
If people who rational, 90% of retail traders wouldn't lose money. The mass is by default emotional creatures and for a business, selling emotions is always profitable and selling rationality is path to bankruptcy (unless subsidised).
