The long road to find funding for the original BHCP plan did not attract any, we can only assume the company changed its direction to build a refinery in WA because it assessed it as more acheavable, if not there was no point in changing.

Reading the public company announcements we have nothing more than good wishes from WA and the FED Government plus a non binding agreement with the Iwatani Corporation.

Quote from ASX 11/23 The Strategic Update: COB to Progress Cobalt-Nickel Refinery Project 2024

"We are engaged with a potential partner that owns a suitable property in the Kwinana district and expect to commence refinery construction next year. The potential partner is further determining an appropriate level of equity ownership in the Cobalt-Nickel Refinery via a funding contribution. COB will likely not own 100% of the project as a result of the partners' ownership. These negotiations are ongoing"

More recently the the April 24 presentation Pathway To Construction Targets which lists 6 bullet points - 1 Iwatani binding partnership arrangement. 2 Feedstock agreements executed. 3 Offtake agreements executed. 4 Technical and site studies completed. 5 Funding (domestic and international agencies) 6 FID expected 3Q24.

Time, as they say will tell.

    Cheers
    Phil.
