Likely to be the Valley of Death that all medtechs seemingly need to traverse, partly to do with funding while they take their candidate products through regulatory processes. Hopefully the level of backing and funding EMVision has will allow them to skirt the worst of the Valley but it can get brutal.

This is the stage of the process where I think local governments can play a positive role and step in, supporting otherwise viable technology through this period towards commercialisation. Locally we have plenty of bat-sh!t crazy retail punters (like you and me) who will bet on technology that is years from commercial validation and we have funds and institutions that will move in once it is clear the companies will make it. However we do not have enough of the professional players who will risk carrying the companies in the interim. Of course that is effectively what Scott Kirkland has been doing which is another plus in our favour. In contrast the yanks have whole sectors that fill that void - which is why so many Aussie hopefuls relocate to the US. In the critical minerals sector governments are starting to offer concierge services to fast track companies through the bureaucracy of regulatory process - not to side-step processes but to make those processes operate as efficiently as possible. Maybe something similar would benefit the medtech sector.

Anyway, I am probably telling most here how to suck eggs but the takeaway message is that I for one intend to go the distance with the emu (and the ibis).
