Firstly you need to produce silicon metal to make the solar cells, it takes 13,000 kWhs to make one tonne of Si met. In Asia they produce Si met, ie in Sarawak Malaysia the cost of power is US$0.03/kWh therefore the power component costs US$390/tonne, using the outrageous Aussie power costs of 30c/kWh it will cost US$2,500 /tonne. Sounds like typical stupid Albo and halfwit Bowen's financial metrics.
These idiots will blow another A$1 billion on this stupidity. Let the Chinese make the solar panels, they're good at doing it, besides all the trees that are burnt to make charcoal comes from Myanmar, I doubt Aussies will want to chop down all their trees to burn for the charcoal to make the Si met.
