There are some very smart individuals who have been saying since 2022 that the cash rate needs to start with a 5. Not the type that get their heads in the media but people working at the coal face in financial markets. Personally I believe trying to predict interest rates is a tough game, but generally I will take my lead from bond market trading. A 5 percent cash rate, while unpleasent for some, might bring back sense and balance .
