We've had a proper Nth Qld wet season up here - no extreme temperatures - just a normal wet season like they used to have.
BTW the excessive rain is why they have rainforests up here - some of the oldest in the world.
The old timers never bothered call it El nino or El Nina - they just called it wet or f^^^ing wet.
They didn't have as many floods back then because the developers didn't get the chance to develop estates where they shouldn't
