I think the answer is in his name - W3Hunter - Wave 3 Hunter. He looks for the Elliott wave 3, exits when it turns into wave 4 or at the w3 target or during wave 5. That is what I have always assumed anyway, and seems to be supported by his periodic appearances and commentary on various stocks over the years. Pretty good strategy to make reliable safe gains and survive as a trader over the long term.
