Day traders' after-market lounge May 1

Well done if you made a quid. Felt like a hella slow day with Queensland and much of Asia on holiday.

The ASX 200 clung to a gain of 25 points or 0.35%, finishing at 7335 after trading as high as 7368. BHP wilted during the session and is large enough to account for much of the index's intraday fade. Utilities and energy finished on top of the sector gains.

US futures were modestly positive at the Australian close. S&P 500 futures inched up 0.07%.
