In my opinion, education is probably the greatest factor in the failure of Australia to reach its potential.
Australia could, or should be the wealthiest nation in the world by a country mile. Why I say that is because of the massive natural advantages it has.
Australia has never capitalised on what it is blessed with, namely, one continent, one nation, geologically stable, security of distance, political stability, Massive natural resources, space, just plain lots space, English speaking.
Now whilst it could be argued that some of those are a double edged sword, in general, they are advantages that many nations in the world would kill for.
About the only clear disadvantage for Australia is the lack of water, but with smart management and so much space and energy, that shouldn’t be a great disadvantage.
