    You deliberately misrepresented what I said. It is companies that are more likely to reverse engineer, not states

    1) Militaries know what is in the market place and some of the better financed one will build their own product. If they are friendly, like the UK they probably won't reverse engineer DRO product, but will instead just take the idea and build their own (as the UK and Israel have done), which means DRO will lose very large potential customers. It would make sense for unfriendly nations to reverse engineer (if they can get their hands on the products) but DRO won't sell in that market anyway.

    2) Reverse engineering will be done by competing companies if DRO has a far superior product in the market place in order to catch up, or potentially by new companies that might want to enter the market because any moat that DRO has is pretty shallow.

    The potential risk for DRO is that it may lose very sales of military sale to major militaries who develop the product in-house, and also may face increased competition as competitors move into a growing market and copy products.
