    I cannot see the article, I will offer that Empire's reservoir is of good quality like the rest of the basin. However it's setting at generally under 1,700m and it's associated productivity are fractional to that elsewhere in the basin or the Marcellus.

    i would also add that Santos is doing the square root of nothing to advance the play. By the time it plays out they'll have essentially taken a three year hiatus from doing anything. This will be their third hiatus since farming into EP161.

    Empire is doing a fine job of coming along for the ride, but won't be competitive or even potentially economic without stronger positions in the basin pulling The weight. IE with 30-40% of the reservoir pressure, and 30-40% of the productivity dictates that greater than a cost reduction to 30-40% is necessary to overcome equal or higher gas handling charges with lower volumes. They're never gonna say it, but that's the reality.
