It is my understanding that solid state batteries use the same amount of lithium per kWh as conventional Lithium Ion batteries but have a substantially higher specific energy meaning their total weight is less for the same capacity. Initially they will also cost more so they will be fitted to more expensive and longer range EVs and the majority of vehicles made in China will still use LFP batteries.
