The construction of this lithium hydroxide plant in Finland began in March 2023, the rotary kiln was installed on 16 May.
It seems the plant will be ready to operate before the company is able to supply raw material from it’s own mine.
Could we see the odd shipment of spodumene concentrate from SYAQ going to Finland when they are ready to commence operations?
“Should the refinery be completed ahead of receipt of required permitting for the mines and concentrator, it will be able to profitably beneficiate third party spodumene until such time as feed from the mines is available. Keliber has engaged with third parties on the possible supply of spodumene concentrate to the refinery, and extensive work and analysis has been completed to ensure the feasibility of the Keliber lithium refinery as a standalone operating entity.”
