IMO it's not the end of the world if a carbonate refinery isn't operating in 2028. I mean (brief) PTS had 2026 as the earliest timeframe. Things have changed a lot in the year since that was released. I just don't think it's necessary to compress any timelines and to a great extent that timeline has been taken out of our hands somewhat.
What's your view on
1. How long it will take for a partner to agree to make a binding commitment to buy into a refinery (and I'm thinking our partner would want 50% and be the operator ... so I don't think an auto OEM will be our partner). I'm thinking they will want to see a real detailed DFS .. I'm also sure they will want to have some (technical) input as well as input on the capital structure. I can't see that happening this CY. Maybe by mid or even late CY'25?
2. From that point ... how long to FID ... and then project commencement ... If it takes 2 years to complete construction and commissioning it can could still be operating in 2028.
For me, the whole thing now rests on who is going to partner with us and they would dictate the timetable. Who knows, maybe our partner will want to press the pedal to the metal and be up an running sooner.
