HDPE injection moulding is very old tech. My understanding is that RFX are using glass-reinforced HDPE, this is newer tech ... and as a side note this composite material isn't readily recyclable (altho theoretically possible). Did RFX mention this recycling issue?
Most injection and blow molding issues (in my experience) are due to poor component design wrt plastic flow during manufacturing. Naiive designers optimise their component design assuming it can be manufactured. Competent manufacturers optimize their design with an understanding how it'll affect manufacturing costs and quality ... starting with conceptual design, thru prototyping and initial manufacturing acceptance testing. This way, competent manufacturers avoid such issues.
