    Hi X,

Much CBS stuff is unreliabe and I don't bother reading Tim Wood. Since you asked about Droke, neither.

Kitco has a heap of "we too" commentators and there are few whose articles I read.

The downgrade of the dollar went too fast and it has taken back some ground (now 82.57).

I have a suspicion that Japan was initially involved in pushing up the dollar; it is quite possible that the EU was in there as well.

As to gold, one report referred to bank bullion sales; that could be gold from a particular country or the dirties were at it again.

When the picture unfolds, we may know more. It is clear that the rise in the dollar is against the USA's interests.

Commentators keep saying that 430 is an important support. Gold has been week all day and is now 434.0, not a good number to start the night with. Perhaps tonight is the decider?

Anyway, the US fundamentals have not changed and the deficits are stil rising.

Currencies have fallen; the $A=0.7515 and gold now is $A577,61 or 1.3% lower from its all time high of about $A585. So, that doesn't sound that bad.

I would like to know when gold stops rising.

    Gerry
