If I was faced with those circumstances, I would be buying the physical - especially if the fee was only say, 2%. Bugger the ETF - full stop! I could always sell privately at spot if I wanted to save the 2% at the other end - but I'd happily sell it back to the broker in 5 yrs time...I suspect it will be a bloody sight more than $4k.
