Everybody - Al Jazeera, Haaretz, The Jerusalem Post, The Times of Israel and many more were saying the same thing - I read it. Some of them, who don't have reporters on the ground, just quote one another.
This is especially so with those big rags, the likes of The New York Times, lots of other outlets around the world just re-print what comes out of NYT.
This is what happened with the stories of 40 beheaded babies. Once the NYT had printed it, the whole world began to print the same BS that was later on debunked by the Israelis themselves.
