Forgive me for the post which I copied above but I felt that it was important to make a couple of points (again) :
1) We need local manufacturing of defence equipment where possible - yes, manufacturing should be supported, even if it takes taxpayers money. 2) This applies in particular to missiles and ammo 3) We MUST be able to maintain our own assets, be they ships, subs or aircraft 4) Yes, it does not come cheap - be prepared to pay TAXES 5) We need a government that actually recognises the problems we face, and takes action to address them.
Our manufacturing base is a national disgrace - we import almost everything, as we discovered during the pandemic. Who was it that said that our ship builders would be hard pressed to build a canoe ?
