are they going to release more land?
No need to. Most existing affordable unit sites are from the 80s/90s which had different setbacks and car space requirements. They could update these blocks with extra unit/s and save the cost of services and land. More bang for the buck.
This would fulfill 10,000 new units in the first year alone Australia wide.
My guess this is happeneing right now and in a planning process.
