    The majority were only tenants of land already purchased from the owners by the Jews.
    Lots of online stuff about how the British noticed the Arab tenant farmers were becoming a landless class because of the land sales and for a time they actually put a stop to Jews buying the land.
    Maybe the Arab owners who were selling their land to the Jews should have shown more consideration for their tenants, either not sold or given them financial compensation, which some did.
