There is nothing in the constitution that prevents a convicted felon running for and becoming the candidate for president. So yeah Criminal Defendant Trump could still be the candidate even if he is a convicted Criminal Felon
Of course it is highly possible and probable IMO SCOTUS will rule Criminal Defendant Trump is not eligible.
IMO there is no way in hell Criminal Defendant Trump can win the 2024 election, but for the sake of the discussion there are doubts that self pardons are allowed and remember receiving a pardon is an admission of guilt. How ever he would not be able to pardon himself or get a pardon for the Georgia Crimes
It would be more likely that Criminal Defendant Trump would install an AG that agreed to drop the federal crime cases. But anyway he will not win the election
