I'd say - 'probably' would have been prevented

a society can't stop everything like this - but, it can stop most - if it wants to and does something about it

take councils and police with homeless --------------- chasing people away when they have homeless camps --------

where exactly did they think people would go?

well - Maslow got this bloke in one ---------- nail on the head -

homeless, wandering, insecure ------------- not only could he not progress - but society didn't even get him on the bottom rung ------------ housed, secure, fed

what do we expect? - that the 'invisible' homeless - will just remain invisible and silent

they will as long as we turn a blind eye -------------until they stand in front of us with a knife --------- in a shopping centre or in our house

society must pay for looking after people --------------- it chooses how it pays -

it can pay in welfare housing and care --------- or it can pay for not caring in blood

I wonder what it will take to change attitudes of Govt's ? Will this horrible event be enough?

Here is where the problem lies, at the risk of being political, this is typical of the problem in Qld, and I assume elsewhere.

LNP Shadow Minister for Health, Ros Bates, has previously come under fire for labelling healthcare staff working in regional Queensland “duds.”During the previous LNP Government, 345 health staff were sacked from the Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service, including 120 nurses.
