Perhaps you were a fan of Margaret Thatcher. She sold off so many council houses, but where did the money go?
At the time, there were so many people living in council houses, who were basically quite wealthy. So they bought their homes really cheap but Thatcher should have used the money to build more council houses. Imo she was a nasty piece of work. She caused dreadful hardship and poverty in Wales and many other mining towns. Her favourite saying was get on your bike and look for work elsewhere. She destroyed so many communities. Sorry she was a bitch.
