I'm guessing an announcement will come in the last 2 weeks in January. The public service here in Canberra are off till the 17th and if D13 have any proposals in for tender with a government dept then nothing is going to happen till the 17th Jan IMO.
Unrelated to my above comments, its interesting to hear that Parliament house will be stopping people walking up the lawns by placing a fence. I've heard there's been a security review and they're waiting till parliament reconvenes to discuss the recommendations put forward. I spoke with an AFP officer the other day at the parliament house and asked about their drone policy and countermeasures...the officer smiled and tapped his weapon. IMO, an officer who fires their weapon a couple times a year would struggle to hit an airborne, moving target and that's not even considering any night targets. Wonder if they have considered drone threat? they'd be fools not to, and with MESMER launching in their own backyard....
