Howard should never ever ever have used Special services to do what is the role of Infantry etc. NEVER.
Special services are 'special' - because they are designed to get quietly into enemy territory and gain intel - they might blow some stuff up on occasion - but, that's less necessary nowadays with satellites, missiles, air power with deadly accuracy
you do NOT let these people off the leash to combat enemy in normal situations -
it's like using a hand grenade to open a bottle of milk
