We have lived here over ten years and regularly have sunbirds flitting around the back patio, sizing it up to build a nest but we were never deemed "suitable" hosts.
That has changed and during the last week a pair have built a nest hanging from a clothes line. They aren't mugs, they know it's dry under our roofs.
