News: Europe Distillates-Diesel margins slip below $20/bbl on higher imports

LONDON, April 16 (Reuters) - Northwest European diesel barge margins dropped below $20 a barrel on Tuesday, after data showed a large increase in imports into the region.

• Eight diesel barges totalling over 16,000 metric tons traded in the Platts afternoon window after two sessions where no barges traded.
• Diesel imports into Europe are set to reach 6.04 million metric tons in April, the highest since July 2023 and up sharply from March's 4.79 million tons, data from LSEG analyst Raj Rajendran showed.
• ARA gasoil stocks rose by 1.5% to 2.15 million metric tons in the week to April 11 as imports into the region from Asia rose while inland demand was limited, Dutch consultancy Insights Global said.
• Russia has been able to swiftly repair some of the key oil refineries hit by Ukrainian drones, reducing capacity idled by the attacks to about 10% from almost 14% at the end of March, Reuters calculations showed.
