Imagine being a grader or dozer operator and hitting that cable.. cooked.
althought Komatsu have been running their PC8000 diggers and shovels in Africa with the umbilical cord and haven't heard of anything hitting that massive high voltage cord.
Also many mines around the world run Electric rope shovels (have done for decades) and obviously have procedures in place for it to not cause any dramas.
I know for a fact they run the electric shovels over in queensland
